Oh, hay.
I’m a product designer and team leader with a background in editorial design and editorial product.
Right now I’m a design director and individual contributor at a product consultancy. I’ve also worked in design studios, freelance, and in-house — small teams with fluid job descriptions are my natural habitat.
I’ve written a couple short pieces about my experience in design and product.
I studied English at the State University of New York at Buffalo and then earned a degree in environmental studies at the University of Vermont before enrolling at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in my twenties. Prior to working exclusively in product, my career included roles in editorial research, magazine and book publishing, graphic design, delivering newspapers by bicycle, serving espresso, teaching history in prison, and playing CBGB in a band led by a drag queen from Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
When I’m not working, I still play music with my friends (once in a while) and walk in the woods (often). My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors in New England and Upstate New York, where I grew up. Someday I’ll finish finishing the basement.
